Climate Action Plans

Once a GHG baseline has been established, Freer Consulting Co. can lead in the development of a climate action plan for your organization.  This may include recommendations for carbon abatement technologies, reduction options and their implementation timelines, operational integration strategies and their continual improvement, training, and full cost outlays.  Such a plan is not a static project.  Rather it evolves into a customized delivery based on the pace and scope your company has selected.
 
Subway

Subway recognized Schreiber Foods as its “2009 Vendor of the Year.”  Schreiber, which provides cheese and dairy products to Subway restaurants in 36 countries, has reduced the innerleaf paper between cheese slices, saving about 450,000 pounds of paper.  Subway also presented a Sustainability Award to Chemco Corporation, which supplies Green Seal certified hand soap to all Subway restaurants in North America. The soap is biodegradable, non-toxic, and meets federal guidelines for limiting carcinogenic ingredients, free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Both the hand soap container and the package it’s shipped in are recyclable. 

SSDC Sustainable Solutions, which provides California Air Resources Board certified glass cleaner and degreaser and other cleaning supplies to Subway worldwide, previously shipped its products in large containers. SSDC now ships the cleaners as concentrated strips, eliminating bulk and weight from the shipping process. As a result, about 180,000 pounds of plastic and 155,000 pounds of corrugate have been saved.
