Carbon Disclosure Project

What is sustainability? Sustainability can be defined as the ability to continue or endure. Sustainability is often considered in terms of humankind's interactions with the natural world. Individual and collective activities can be evaluated as having effects that either promote or harm the Earth's capacity to sustain its biological processes over time.

A UK-based organization known as CDP (formerly known as the "Carbon Disclosure Project") works with businesses to disclose their sustainability metrics, along such dimensions as greenhouse gas emissions, forestry management, and water use. Participating companies are able to demonstrate to shareholders (and others) that they take seriously the risks and opportunities associated with their environmental impacts.
